Electron Microscopy
The electron microscopic laboratory is one of two in the state of Connecticut. The laboratory primarily supports the neuromuscular and renal biopsy services. Specimens are received from numerous hospitals throughout the state as well as from some inpatient and outpatients. Under the direction of Dr. Yamase the laboratory also performs examinations of platelets, cilia and other less common specimens for diagnosis.
